The Turbo Rat is the higher-gain member of the RAT family. Its turbo mode makes the pedal respond to your pick attack, and some RATs add that mode as a mod switch. Where it earns its keep for owners is stacking: it is a favourite into a Big Muff for a huge wall of distortion, and the trick they share is to put the muff after the rat so you keep the muff's fat low end while the rat's tone cuts through the middle. As a RAT variant it is naturally cross-shopped with the standard RAT and cheaper clones like the Mooer Black Secret and Tom'sline Black Teeth, and owners note the vintage LM308-chip Turbo Rats handle more gain before overloading than some of those clones.
