Fender American Ultra Stratocaster

Über Fender American Ultra Stratocaster

The American Ultra Stratocaster arrived in 2019 as the successor to the American Elite series, and the American Ultra II later replaced it. It is made in Corona, California. Ultraburst, Mocha Burst, Arctic Pearl, Texas Tea and Cobra Blue have an alder body; Aged Natural and Plasma Red Burst use ash. The Modern D maple neck has a satin back and a maple or rosewood board with a 10 to 14 inch compound radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, a 25.5 inch scale and a bone nut 1.685 inch (42.8 mm) wide.

Three Ultra Noiseless Vintage Strat pickups run through a master volume, a tone for neck and middle, a tone for the bridge and a five-way switch. The S-1 push switch in the volume knob adds the neck pickup in the first two positions, giving bridge plus neck, then all three, and a treble bleed keeps the highs as you turn down. The bridge is a two-point synchronized tremolo with a pop-in arm, and the tuners lock.

Check the pickguard against the finish: Texas Tea has a gold one-ply anodized aluminum guard, Ultraburst and Plasma Red Burst a three-ply mint green one. Weighed examples come in at about 7.5 to 8.4 lb (3.4 to 3.8 kg). It comes in an Elite molded hard case with the arm, hex wrenches, a strap lock pin and a certificate. Owners often fit other pickups, pickguards or strap buttons, so ask whether the originals come with it.
