Keeley Caverns Reverb / Delay V2

Über Keeley Caverns Reverb / Delay V2

The Keeley Caverns V2 is a reverb-and-delay combo pedal in one compact, mono box: spring and plate style reverbs with a shimmer mode, plus a tape-style delay. It is studio quality and a lot of pedal for a small board, and owners rate its delay in particular very highly. It is digital, so it wants a solid power supply.

The Caverns V2 is Keeley's reverb-and-delay combo: spring and plate reverbs with a shimmer mode and a tape-style delay, all in one compact mono box that does a lot for the space it takes, which makes it a favourite for small boards. Owners are divided but mostly warm on it. Its fans call it a desert-island pedal with an intangible magic they cannot keep off the board, rate its delay as top-notch, and love it as a mono ambient machine. Run it last in the chain, and the spring reverb with the shimmer and a synth pedal makes lush ambient trails; it is also a natural for shoegaze. The other camp is less sold: a few were disappointed with the reverb, find the shimmer a bit aggressive and glitchy at higher blend settings, or feel it is too much on guitar and better suited to synths. It is a strong-value utility pedal, cross-shopped with the likes of the Source Audio Collider, and being digital it wants enough power to behave.
