Martin Standard Series 000-18

Über Martin Standard Series 000-18

The Standard Series 000-18 is Martin's mahogany 000 (Auditorium) guitar, made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania: a 14-fret body with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, a dovetail neck joint, a 24.9 inch scale, a 1 3/4 inch nut, a bone nut and saddle, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge with 20 frets on a 16 inch radius.

Two generations matter when you buy one. The redesigned guitar has an aging-toner top, scalloped X bracing with 1/4 inch braces, abalone Old Style 18 dots, nickel open-gear tuners with butterbean knobs and a rosewood headplate with the old-style logo. Its neck is a Modified Low Oval with the Performing Artist or High-Performance taper, and earlier examples have tortoise binding and black plastic bridge pins. The 2025 refresh brought Golden Era scalloped bracing, a reshaped GE Modified Low Oval neck, a thinner fingerboard with a beveled edge, a reworked bridge and a slimmer heel; refreshed guitars have black binding and ebony bridge pins.

Weighed examples come in at 3 lb 12 oz to 3 lb 14 oz (about 1.7 to 1.8 kg). It comes with a Martin hardshell case. No pickup is standard: Fishman and LR Baggs systems were factory options and some guitars have one fitted later, so ask what is installed.
