Walrus Audio Slö Multi-Texture Reverb

Über Walrus Audio Slö Multi-Texture Reverb

The Walrus Audio Slö is an atmospheric reverb built for ambient and shoegaze sounds. It has three modes (dark, rise and dream), an X knob for modulation, plus sustain and filter controls, and its dream mode can latch to hold a lush pad you play over. It is a mono pedal, and there is a bigger Slötva version with presets.

Owners love the Slö for lush, atmospheric reverb, and more than one calls it their favourite pedal or the best reverb they own. It is built for ambient and shoegaze: three modes (dark, rise and dream), an X knob for modulation, plus sustain and filter controls, and a dream mode you can latch to hold a lush pad underneath your playing, much like the infinite pad on the Walrus Fathom. Owners set the dark mode with the X knob down for a hall-like verb, and reach for it as an essential shoegaze pedal. It is one of the go-to ambient reverbs, cross-shopped with the Strymon Cloudburst (owners rate the Slö's shimmer higher), OBNE's Sunlight and Dark Star, the Keeley Caverns and the Catalinbread Sinkhole; if you want presets and a bigger feature set, the Slötva version adds them. It is not universal, though: a few prefer the OBNE Dark Star or a simpler spring reverb like the Boss RV-6.
