About the Magnatone SL-100 Slash Signature

The Magnatone SL-100 is the artist's signature head from the partnership announced in November 2023: a 100 watt take on Magnatone's Super Fifty-Nine circuit, voiced a little thicker, with presence, three-band EQ, one volume and separate gain controls for the Lo and Hi channels, sold with a matching 4x12 loaded with Vintage 30s. The first run was a limited green snakeskin edition of 100, signed; the Blackout edition that followed is the same amp in black tolex. On stage he runs three SL-100s and two M-80 heads in red snakeskin, with the Jubilees kept for a handful of songs.

The best-priced as cards, a row of them; every other ad as a line, by ask. Each ask is the seller’s own number; the platform’s mark opens the listing. Each one says when we last confirmed it at its source: the price and availability are from that visit, so check the marketplace before you go.

No typical price yet for this one, so: one email when a new listing appears, with its ask. Never more than one a day. No account; a link to stop in every email.

Every recorded sale, one point each: 24 of them, placed by the day the ad went up. Too few sales to draw a trend through them without inventing one, so the points speak for themselves. Condition is mixed, so some of the spread is a mint against a fair rather than the market moving.

What owners have said elsewhere

Paraphrased from 102 discussion threads among 26 owners, 2023-2025. No names, nothing quoted.

Those who have played Magnatones, and the few who own the SL-100, say it sounds great: crisp and articulate, more open and reactive than a Marshall, huge and organic live, and in the first side-by-side demo the AFD100 sounded like a plugin next to it. The Marshall camp, which is most of the owners, hears it as dry and without grit, thin in the mix on live clips, boomy rather than punchy and an amp you have to fight; not the classic sound, which a Jubilee or a JCM800 does better for a fraction of the money, and a Marshall lookalike at three times the price. Even owners who like it doubt anyone will chase it for the artist's tone the way they chase the Jubilee. It is built for grit and clarity rather than distortion: owners run a Klon-type pedal in front, and it lets every mistake through.
