Old Blood Noise Endeavors Darkstar

About the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Darkstar

The Old Blood Noise Endeavors Dark Star is an ambient pad reverb, made for lush, otherworldly textures rather than natural room sound. A filter control shapes the wash, and the pedal comes in a stereo version and has been revised into a newer V3. It is the reverb owners reach for when they want something weird and spacious rather than subtle.

Owners describe the Dark Star as a reverb with a sound all its own: eerie, haunting, great for weird soundscapes, and just plain good. It is squarely an ambient and lo-fi tool, so people run it for pads and shoegaze washes rather than a natural room, and one owner rates it a notch above the Walrus SLO for pre-reverb pads. The filter control is a repeated favourite, several owners single it out as the fun part of the pedal, and it takes well to sitting in an amp's effects loop. There is a stereo version and a newer V3 that owners call amazing. Fair warning: it is a creative, characterful reverb, not the pick if you want a plain, subtle room.
