Where to find the code
On the internal element, not the outside. Unscrew the handle: the date code is on the small circuit board or element label. A 1951-1960 code is a digit then a two-digit week; a 1961-on code is a year letter then a month letter.
When the code cannot be read
A part inside the microphone with an EIA date code can also date it; the pot and speaker code reader decodes it. This is one of the microphones the microphone dater covers.
