Warm Audio Warmdrive

About the Warm Audio Warmdrive

The Warm Audio Warmdrive is an affordable take on the Hermida Audio Zendrive, the smooth, Dumble-flavored overdrive with a vocal, singing quality. It has Volume, Tone, Voice and Gain controls, the Voice knob shaping how dark or present the drive is, and it pairs especially well with single-coil guitars. Owners note it runs a touch brighter and raspier than the original Hermida and LovePedal versions, but with plenty of EQ to dial that back, and it delivers the Zendrive topology at a low price.

Owners are pleasantly surprised by the Warmdrive: one calls it awesome and runs it as his main overdrive with a slight breakup, another says it is underappreciated and more people should grab one, and a buyer who tried the cheapest Zendrive-style pedal first found it definitely better than he expected. The character is a smooth, warm Dumble-in-a-box, and owners describe it as a warmer, more versatile Bluesbreaker that loves a Strat or Tele. The tone tip that comes up is to set the Voice knob around two o'clock and the Tone around ten for a vocal, singing lead, and it is a favorite for that Santana Supernatural-era smooth lead run into a clean channel. It also stacks nicely with other drives. The honest note is that it is voiced a bit brighter and raspier than the pricier original Hermida and LovePedal versions, so purists may eventually want to compare those, but for the Zendrive sound at a fraction of the cost, owners rate it highly.
