About the Analogman Prince of Tone
The Analogman Prince of Tone is a single-channel overdrive that is essentially one channel of the King of Tone, built on the same circuit. Unlike the King, it is available direct with little wait and for less (around 180 dollars), and its boost, overdrive and distortion modes are set by external switches rather than the King's internal dip switches. Two Princes roughly equal one King.

What owners have said elsewhere
Paraphrased from 92 discussion threads among 11 owners, 2024. No names, nothing quoted.
The Prince of Tone is the practical way into Analogman's celebrated dual-overdrive sound: it is one channel of the King of Tone, but you can buy it direct without the multi-year wait, for a fraction of the price, and its modes are switched from the outside instead of by opening the case. Owners rate it highly, calling it phenomenal and versatile, and a fair few prefer it to the King itself, describing the King as a touch more organic and the Prince as having a little more gain. It rewards being used like a Tube Screamer and stacked: run it into another drive or in front of a Marshall for a Marshall-flavoured push, or feed it into a King of Tone's boost side. If even the Prince is more than you want to spend, the MXR Duke of Tone is a licensed, mass-produced version of it: some owners call it the same for less, while others feel the hand-built Prince has a slight edge, which they put down to part tolerances.
