Owners are fond of the Angry Charlie, several naming it a favorite and calling its Marshall voicing one of the best amp-in-a-box lead tones they have heard. They describe it as smoother than a Friedman-style box and nothing like a tube screamer, which suits classic rock and plexi lead work. A common trick is to lean on the three-band EQ, pushing the mids for solos or feeding midrange into a Big Muff so it cuts through. One owner notes that stacked at high gain it can add a fair bit of noise. Budget clones such as the GeekFx AGC3 also turn up around fifty five dollars for owners who want the Marshall sound for less.
