About the Tokai Breezysound TE-70
The TE-70 is the double-bound Breezysound Telecaster of 1980 to 1983, a 70,000-yen grade rarely seen among the 50s, 60s, 80s and 100s, the binding being what the extra bought. The 1983 specification is an alder body with binding, a laminated-maple neck with rosewood board in the old U shape, TE Vintage pickups with braided lead wire, a three-way switch, the old-style bridge and tailpiece and a polyurethane finish in yellow sunburst, gold sunburst, wine red or black; natural and dark red are also seen, maple boards turn up, and the block-letter logo dates the 1983 guitars. The TE-80 above it differs by its gold bridge. Owners date theirs from 1980 to 1983.

The best-priced as cards, a row of them; every other ad as a line, by ask. Each ask is the seller’s own number; the platform’s mark opens the listing. Each one says when we last confirmed it at its source: the price and availability are from that visit, so check the marketplace before you go.
Price history
Every recorded sale, one point each: 12 of them, placed by the day the ad went up. Too few sales to draw a trend through them without inventing one, so the points speak for themselves. Condition is mixed, so some of the spread is a mint against a fair rather than the market moving.

These are keepers: a 1983 bought new at eighteen, a consolation for not affording a Fender, plays like a dream and is the one guitar of many its owner never parted with; another owner's is the best of all the Tokais in the house, a 1981 has stayed forty years with a third, one 25-year owner calls it always lovely to play, and the neck profile is a favourite.
