Dunlop CBM95 Cry Baby Mini Wah

About the Dunlop CBM95 Cry Baby Mini Wah

The Dunlop Cry Baby Mini Wah is a compact, roughly half-size version of the classic Cry Baby wah, built to save board space without changing the familiar Cry Baby voice. It comes in a few flavors, the standard CBM95 and the Mini 535Q, which packs the multi-range voicing of the full 535Q, and some versions add an Auto-Return that switches the wah on when you rock the treadle forward and off when you lift your foot. It runs on a standard center-negative supply rather than a battery.

Owners who pick up a Cry Baby Mini tend to love it, and the recurring verdict is that it is the smart, can't-lose choice when you want a wah but not the board space, one owner simply swapped his full-size wah for the mini because it fits better. It keeps the classic Cry Baby voice in a much smaller box, and it is regularly named the best affordable wah, with owners noting you can find one used for around seventy-five dollars and warning that going cheaper than that gets you into throwaway territory. The tip owners share is to look at the versions: the Mini 535Q gives you multiple voicings, and the Auto-Return models, which engage as you step on the treadle and switch off as you step away, win people over completely, one owner says he will never go back. Just remember it takes a center-negative power supply, not a battery.
