What owners love about the Fuzz Face is its responsiveness: roll the guitar volume back and it goes from full fuzz to a sparkly near-clean, so a lot of the tone lives in your hands and your volume knob. The two flavours matter. Germanium is warmer and more vintage (early Hendrix) but drifts with temperature, so it can sound different from hour to hour; silicon, like this Mini, is brighter, more aggressive and far more stable (later Hendrix). The one rule everyone repeats is placement: the Fuzz Face is very input-sensitive and has to go first in the chain, right after the guitar and before any buffer, or it stops behaving properly.
