MXR SF01 Slash Octave

About the MXR SF01 Slash Octave

The MXR SF01 Slash Octave Fuzz is a fuzz with a separate octave section, finished in the distressed red and black of the SC95 wah it was released alongside; a plain red limited edition and a hand-numbered signed set with the matching wah also exist. The artist uses it sparingly, on the Paradise City solo, Watch This, the chorus of You're a Lie, No More Heroes and Shadow Life.

Owners call the sound awesome and good fun, but most admit they rarely switch it on and several struggled to dial it in; a few use only the octave side, one swapped it for a Boss OC-5, and others prefer a Fuzz Face with a separate octave. It is the fun extra bought after the wah and EQ. Run it in front of the amp, after the wah and Q-Zone, never in the effects loop.
