About the Tokai Breezysound TTE-60

The TTE-60 is the 60-grade Breezysound Telecaster of the Goldstar years, 1983 to 1986, and the successor of the TE-60 of up to 1982: the same wood as the 50 grade, but hand-wound E-stamped grey-bottom pickups and a thin polyurethane skin with a top coat where the 50 has machine-wound U pickups under a thick polyester finish. Bodies are two-piece and centre-matched, necks are the slim U that Tokai used up to the 80 grade (it feels like a slim C; the V starts at 80), and the bridge changed in 1983-84 from the flat six-saddle plate to the correct three-saddle ashtray type. The Custom Edition TTE-60 of the mid-1980s is a separate thing, a modern-spec Tele with a flat 12-inch radius and near-jumbo frets, often with a figured top and a 1990-91 serial on some. Owners date theirs to 1986, and one has been in the same hands since 1986.

The best-priced as cards, a row of them; every other ad as a line, by ask. Each ask is the seller’s own number; the platform’s mark opens the listing. Each one says when we last confirmed it at its source: the price and availability are from that visit, so check the marketplace before you go.

No typical price yet for this one, so: one email when a new listing appears, with its ask. Never more than one a day. No account; a link to stop in every email.

What owners have said elsewhere

Paraphrased from 7 discussion threads among 9 owners, 2021-2025. No names, nothing quoted.

A 1986 TTE60 was the guitar its owner reached for to record with, the flat board and big frets allowing the lowest action ever set on any guitar, and, since sold on, is still counted by that owner among the favourite guitars ever had; the 80s Tokai necks are said to live up to the hype, and a Custom Edition is called magnificent.
