About the Tokai Hard Puncher PB-40
The PB-40 is the entry grade of Tokai's early-1980s Hard Puncher Precision Bass, a 1981 by its serial, the L prefix arriving in 1982, and among collectors of seventies Japanese basses it ranks above the Aria Precise and Greco Mercury for build and sound; one owner of forty-odd years calls the Hard Puncher the best bass owned.
