Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar

About the Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar

The Kurt Cobain Jaguar is Fender's replica of the modified 1965 Jaguar its namesake played, made in Mexico. The alder body has a new-looking three-color sunburst finish in gloss polyester. The maple neck has a Modern C profile and a bound rosewood board with pearloid dots, 22 medium jumbo frets on a 9.5 inch radius, a 24 inch scale and a 1.650 inch synthetic bone nut. The headstock is Stratocaster-shaped with a 1950s-style spaghetti logo, and the neck plate is engraved with a custom Fender logo.

Two DiMarzio humbuckers are fitted, a DP103 PAF 36th Anniversary in the neck and a DP100 Super Distortion in the bridge, under aged white covers with black bezels. The lower plate carries a volume for each pickup, a master tone and a three-way toggle, while the upper rhythm circuit keeps its slide switch and two thumbwheels for the neck pickup. The bridge is a black chrome Adjusto-Matic ahead of a floating vibrato tailpiece with a lock button; tuners are Gotoh sealed units and the pickguard is four-ply tortoiseshell.

Weighed examples come in at about 8.6 to 9.3 lb (3.9 to 4.2 kg). It comes in a black textured vinyl hard case with a photo book about the original guitar, the tremolo arm and hang tags.
