The Standard Series 000-28 is Martin's rosewood Auditorium guitar, made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania; the model dates from 1902, and dated examples run from 2000 to 2025. It has a 14-fret 000 body, a solid Sitka spruce top, solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, a 24.9 inch scale and an ebony fingerboard and bridge with 20 frets on a 16 inch radius.

It changed twice, so the year matters. Up to 2017 it has non-scalloped X bracing, a Low Profile neck, a 1 11/16 inch (42.9 mm) nut and white binding. The 2018 redesign brought scalloped bracing, a Modified Low Oval neck with a High-Performance Taper and a 1 3/4 inch nut, an aging-toner top, antique white binding, herringbone trim, abalone inlays, a tortoise pickguard, open-gear tuners and white plastic bridge pins. The 2025 refresh brought scalloped Golden Era bracing, a GE neck, a thinner fingerboard, a reworked bridge and heel, and bone pins. Ambertone and sunburst tops are options, called 1933 Ambertone and 1935 Sunburst from 2025. The serial dates it: about 1.17 million in 2006, 1.9 million in 2015, 2.38 to 2.46 million in 2019 and 2020, and 2.9 million and up from 2025.

Weighed examples run about 4.2 to 4.8 lb (1.9 to 2.2 kg), with necks about 0.80 to 0.85 inch deep at the first fret. It comes in a Martin hard case, molded on recent ones. No pickup is standard; factory Fishman or LR Baggs systems and added ones turn up. Check how much saddle height is left and that the bridge sits flat.
