About the Tokai AST-95 Goldstar Sound
The AST-95 is a current Japanese-built Goldstar Sound Stratocaster: the AST prefix means Tokai's modified headstock, a 9.5-inch fretboard radius and medium-jumbo frets, where the TST models sold by some importers as reissues share the body but keep the vintage Fender-shaped headstock, 7.25-inch radius and thin vintage frets. The number is the list price in thousands of yen, so an AST-96 is the same guitar at a later price.
