Über MXR M234 Analog Chorus

The MXR M234 Analog Chorus is a warm, bucket-brigade analog chorus with the usual Rate, Depth and Level controls plus, unusually, Low and High cut EQ knobs that let you shape the modulated signal and keep it from getting too bright or thin. It has stereo outputs and is widely regarded as strong value, especially used.

The MXR Analog Chorus is a favourite in this group: owners call it a great, versatile chorus, several name it their favourite, and one says it was so good it stayed his go-to for years. It is a common step up from budget choruses, one owner found it a big jump over his Mooer, Joyo and NUX pedals, and it is regularly called an amazing value on the used market, with one owner picking it over the Waza CE-2W in a side-by-side. The feature owners single out is the EQ: the Low and High cut controls let you dial the chorus in to taste and keep it warm rather than brittle, and it runs in stereo. It is not universal, though. One owner liked it in demos but could not get a sound he liked with his own guitar and amp, and a few rate a Boss Dimension C or a CE-2 higher, so it is worth trying against those if you can.
