MXR M300

Über MXR M300

The MXR M300 Reverb is a compact stereo reverb that packs several voices, from spring and plate to hall and a lush pad, into a small, simple box. Advanced settings under the hood let you switch on a buffer or a fully wet output, though it does not include a pre-delay control. It trades deep menus for good sounds and a small footprint.

The M300 is a favourite here, more than a few owners call it the best reverb they have, awesome, one of their favourite pedals full stop, and they praise how smooth and natural it sounds. The pad mode comes up over and over: owners love how it fills the gaps in a part, and some rate it above the shimmer on rivals like the Keeley. It is an easy pedal to live with, several voices from spring to hall in a small box, with hidden switches for a buffer or a fully wet signal if you run it in parallel. The most common wish is a pre-delay, one owner says that single feature would have won it a head to head against the Walrus Fathom, and a couple of players felt it could be more versatile or simply preferred a Boss RV-6. Even so, the usual verdict is you can't go wrong with it.
