Dunlop SC95 Slash Signature Cry Baby Classic Wah

About the Dunlop SC95 Slash Signature Cry Baby Classic Wah

The SC95 Slash Cry Baby Classic, released in 2012, is the second signature wah: distressed red and black, no knobs, true bypass and a 9 volt supply, where the earlier SW95 ran on 18 volts with a built-in distortion. A plain red limited edition and a gold version also exist. The artist himself tours with a Dunlop rack wah rather than either pedal.

Owners who have had both signature wahs keep this one: a clearer, darker sweep with an angry growl, and the closest match to the artist's 80s and 90s wah sound; several call it the best sounding Cry Baby, and one who wore his out bought the same again. The dissenters find it not deep and its sweep harder to control than the SW95's, and the wah collectors reach for the rack wah or the 535Q instead. When the sweep shrinks after years of use, a cheap pot swap and re-seating the gear brings it back.
