Why this number?
The typical used price is the median of 11 used sales observed in the last 6 months, with outliers removed and the figure rounded. An observed sale is often the last asking price rather than a confirmed hammer price.

About the Gibson LG1 1960s
The LG-1 is Gibson's small-body ladder-braced flat-top, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan: a solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck and a rosewood board with dot inlays on a 24 3/4 inch scale. Measured bodies are about 14 1/4 inches wide at the lower bout and 4 1/2 inches deep, weighed examples come in at about 3.7 to 4.1 lb (1.7 to 1.8 kg), and necks measure about 0.79 to 0.84 inch (20 to 21 mm) deep at the first fret. The model name is stamped, often faintly, inside the soundhole. It came in a chipboard case, often alligator-patterned.
Examples up to 1964 have a nut about 1 11/16 inch (42.6 to 42.8 mm) wide; Gibson moved to a slimmer nut in 1965, and later ones measure about 1 9/16 inch (39 to 40 mm) with a slim C neck. Early 1960s guitars have a rosewood bridge; by the mid-1960s a plastic bridge glued and bolted to the top replaced it. It tends to warp and lift, and many have had it swapped for a wooden one, usually rosewood. The ladder-braced top often bellies behind the bridge and can sink in front of it. Many have had or need a neck reset, and many have a saddle shaved low. Repaired top cracks are common, often beside the pickguard, along with back cracks, seam repairs and reglued braces. The pickguard is often replaced, missing or warped; the Kluson three-on-a-strip tuners have often been replaced, many have been refretted, and some have a strap button added at the heel.
