About the Martin CEO-7
The CEO-7 is a 00 with sloping shoulders and a neck that joins at the 14th fret, a new design for Martin. It has a solid Adirondack spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, scalloped X bracing in 1/4 inch Adirondack spruce, and a dovetail neck joint. The neck is select hardwood in a Modified V shape, with a 24.9 inch scale and a 1 3/4 inch nut; the ebony board carries abalone Old Style 18 inlays. A bone nut and an ebony straight-line bridge with a drop-in compensated bone saddle and 2 5/16 inch string spacing complete it. The top is gloss Autumn Sunset Burst, the neck satin, and the tuners Golden Age Relic nickel open-gear units with cream buttons. It is a Special Edition in Martin's CEO series, made in the USA, with frets Plek-dressed at the factory and an interior label that carries a signature and the guitar's number in the series, with no total given.
No pickup is fitted as standard. Fishman and LR Baggs systems were factory options, and owners have added K&K, Fishman and LR Baggs units, so ask which one is fitted. It comes with a Martin hardshell case, paperwork and hangtags. The fault several owners disclose is at the binding: separation at the waist on the top and back, or finish cracking along the binding edge, so look there closely and ask about cracks, splits and repairs. The wood moves with humidity changes, so ask how it was kept.
