About the Martin D-15M
The D-15M is Martin's all-solid mahogany dreadnought, made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania and modelled on the all-mahogany Style 15 guitars of the 1940s. Top, back, sides and neck are mahogany, with no binding and a satin finish, and under the mahogany top sits non-scalloped A-frame X bracing in 5/16 inch Sitka spruce. It has a 25.4 inch scale, 20 frets with 14 clear of the body, a 1 11/16 inch nut, 2 1/8 inch string spacing at the bridge, a 16 inch saddle radius and a Modified Low Oval neck with a standard taper. The fingerboard, headplate and belly bridge are East Indian rosewood, with abalone diamond and square inlays, a bone nut, a compensated bone saddle and ebony pins.
Dated examples run from 2001 to 2024, and a few details separate older from newer. Up to 2020 it came with a Martin hardshell case, the 345 on 2010s examples; new ones come with a padded softshell case. Older ones have open-gear tuners with butterbean knobs, recent ones Ping tuners with large black plastic knobs. Current spec sheets give the neck wood as select hardwood where older ones say mahogany, and because of material supply the pickguard is either tortoise pattern or black. No pickup is standard; Fishman systems are factory options and some have one added later, so ask which it has. Check that the neck is straight, the truss rod still turns and the top is flat behind the bridge.

Price history
Every recorded sale, one point each: 829 of them, placed by the day the ad went up. The line follows the middle of the sales around each point, with the middle half behind it, and breaks wherever nothing sold nearby. Condition is mixed, so some of the spread is a mint against a fair rather than the market moving.
