About the Martin Standard Series D-41
The D-41 is Martin's abalone-trimmed rosewood dreadnought, introduced in 1969 and made in the USA: a 14-fret body with a solid Sitka spruce top, solid East Indian rosewood back and sides and a Style 45 back strip, 20 frets on a 25.4 inch scale, and a bound ebony fingerboard with reduced hexagon abalone inlays. Abalone trims the top edge and rosette but not the back and sides, and the vertical C.F. Martin headstock logo is abalone.
Before 2018 the scalloped X bracing sits in the standard position, the neck is a Low Profile shape with a 1 11/16 inch nut, the binding is white and the gold tuners are enclosed. The 2018 redesign moved the bracing forward and brought a Modified Low Oval neck with a High Performance Taper and a 1 3/4 inch nut, an aging-toner top, antique white binding and gold open-gear tuners. Until 2025 the bridge pins are white plastic with abalone dots. The 2025 refresh went to Golden Era scalloped bracing, a GE Modified Low Oval neck, a thinner beveled fingerboard, a vintage-style heel, a GE belly bridge, bone pins and an angled nut. Ambertone and sunburst tops exist besides the natural one.
Weighed examples come in at about 4.6 to 4.8 lb (2.1 to 2.2 kg). It comes with a Martin hardshell case. No pickup is standard; Fishman and LR Baggs systems were factory options and some have a K&K or LR Baggs pickup added later.

Price history
Every recorded sale, one point each: 779 of them, placed by the day the ad went up. The line follows the middle of the sales around each point, with the middle half behind it, and breaks wherever nothing sold nearby. Condition is mixed, so some of the spread is a mint against a fair rather than the market moving.
