About the Tokai Silver Star SS-50
The SS-50 is the 50-grade Silver Star, Tokai's early-1980s big-headstock seventies Strat, made with maple or rosewood boards; it shares the better tuners with the SS-48 (the SS-40 got cheaper tuners and bridge) and, unlike the 38 and 48, was offered in the metallic custom colours such as Metallic Red, the 1982 serials starting with a 2. Owners date theirs to 1982.

Paraphrased from 5 discussion threads among 7 owners, 2023-2025. No names, nothing quoted.
A 1982 SS-50, all original and still like new, feels more comfortable than any guitar its owner has held, the neck simply perfect, and a rosewood-board owner calls it one of the best necks ever played on a Strat; the guitar is called the epitome of the seventies Strat, a literal silver star.
