Boss DM-2

About the Boss DM-2

The Boss DM-2 is a simple three-knob analog bucket-brigade delay with short delay times of up to about 300 milliseconds. Like other analog delays it has a warm, darkening repeat and a little inherent noise, and the original made-in-Japan units run on 12 volts.

Owners are fond of the DM-2, several calling it one of the best delay pedals ever made and loving how simple and straightforward the three-knob layout is. It is a warm analog delay best suited to slapback and shorter repeats, since it only reaches around 300 milliseconds where a Carbon Copy goes further and adds modulation. A note for buyers of the original made-in-Japan version: it needs 12 volts or a battery, not a standard 9 volt supply.
