About the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver
The Boss BD-2 Blues Driver is a compact overdrive that has been in Boss's line since 1995. Owners use it for light to moderate breakup rather than heavy distortion, and it is a common first 'real' overdrive that stays on many boards for years. Boss also sells a Waza Craft version, the BD-2W, which adds a second Custom voicing alongside the standard mode. The circuit also appears in collaborations such as the JHS Angry Driver, which combines it with a JHS Angry Charlie.

Stacking is the most repeated tip: an SD-1 or a Tube Screamer set to low gain in front of the Blues Driver pushes it harder without changing its character, which owners treat as the classic move. As a booster they keep its gain low and mind pedal order and gain-staging to keep noise down.
