Why this number?

The typical used price is the median of 52 used sales observed in the last 90 days, with outliers removed and the figure rounded. An observed sale is often the last asking price rather than a confirmed hammer price.

About the Boss ODB-3 Bass Overdrive

The Boss ODB-3 Bass Overdrive is an aggressive overdrive-to-distortion pedal designed for bass, with a Blend knob to mix your clean low end back in with the overdriven signal and a two-band EQ. It gets gnarly and cutting, enough that some guitarists press it into service for nasty, high-gain guitar tones as well as bass.

What owners have said elsewhere

Paraphrased from 25 discussion threads among 6 owners, 2024. No names, nothing quoted.

The ODB-3 is a divisive pedal in this group. Its useful feature is the Blend knob, which lets you keep your dry bass fundamental under the dirt, and a few players actually reach for it on guitar for an aggressive tone, one calls it the hammer of the gods through a Strat. The practical catch, which even fans acknowledge, is that it is fussy to dial: owners report it really only sounds good either fully cranked or kept quite dry with the blend, and in between it can turn thin or fizzy. The honest reality is that plenty of owners simply do not like it, describing it as sounding awful, like static, or just missing something they wanted, and reaching for a SansAmp-style preamp or a Bass Big Muff instead. If you want a cheap, aggressive bass (or guitar) overdrive and are willing to work the Blend, it can deliver, but it is far from a universal favorite.
