Boss OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion

About the Boss OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion

The Boss OS-2 OverDrive/Distortion is a two-in-one dirt pedal: alongside the usual Drive, Tone and Level it has a Color knob that blends between an overdrive voice and a distortion voice, so a single pedal spans everything from a light overdrive to hard distortion or any mix of the two.

Owners are fond of the OS-2 as a do-it-all dirt box, one says he fell in love with it, another calls it a monster that screams, and it comes up as a brilliant all-rounder precisely because it packs an overdrive and a distortion into one pedal. The trick everyone points to is the Color knob: it blends between the overdrive and distortion voicings, so you can dial anything from a bit of crunch to a lot. A favourite setting is a clean amp with the drive and color around two or three o'clock, and owners boost solos by pairing it with an SD-1. For stacking crunch and covering a lot of gain in one small box, it earns its spot.
