Owners treat the TU-2 as a workhorse. Many are still running units from the early 2000s and see no reason to replace them, calling it durable and dependable. The main knock is that it is not true bypass, so its buffer stays in the signal path, and a few owners skip that buffer and convert the tuner to true bypass. Next to the newer TU-3 they find it slower and harder to read in bright sun. Two habits come up a lot: put the tuner first in the chain so it mutes the signal for silent tuning, and when a low note will not read, tune off a fifth, seventh or twelfth fret harmonic. It is one of the most common pedals around, and a used TU-3 is a cheap upgrade if you want one.
