It is a studio-class Strymon reverb with spring, plate and room voices, and its calling card is being simple to live with while still offering more than the smaller Cloudburst, with a modulation dial that takes it into ambient washes and the ability to save a favourite preset. It is not for absolutely everyone, though: some players cannot coax a dark or deep enough reverb out of it, some would rather a simpler box like the Flint (which throws in tremolo), and a few who owned both feel the Cloudburst has a certain magic the Blue Sky lacks. Where it sits is the middle of Strymon's reverb range, cross-shopped with the bigger, do-everything Big Sky (great, but overkill for some guitarists) and the simpler Cloudburst, and there is an updated V2.
