Boss DC-2W Dimension C Chorus Waza Craft

About the Boss DC-2W Dimension C Chorus Waza Craft

The Boss DC-2W is a Waza Craft recreation of the legendary Roland Dimension C, a studio chorus that producers treated as a secret ingredient on 70s and 80s records. Rather than a swirly LFO chorus, it combines two out-of-phase, BBD-delayed signals for a broad, almost motionless stereo shimmer, and it keeps the original's unusual four-button interface: no knobs, just fixed modes you select one at a time or by pressing two buttons together. The later DC-3 adds knobs for more control.

Owners talk about the Dimension C in reverent terms, one calls it the most exquisite-sounding chorus ever made and, in the same breath, the simplest to use, others just say it is exquisite, and more than one keeps it on always as a subtle sweetener. Asked to pick a single classic chorus, one owner chose it over all the others. Its character is that broad, three-dimensional, barely-moving shimmer rather than an obvious wobble, and the four-button interface makes it effortless. The way to get the most from it is in stereo: it has two mono outputs, so owners run it into two amps (or a stereo rig) for the full width, sitting in the modulation section after the drives and before the reverb. The one trade-off is control: because it has fixed modes and no blend or depth knob, some players wish they could dial the effect back and run it into a wet/dry box to make it more subtle, while others love that it just does the sound for you, and anyone wanting more tweakability points to a knobbed pedal like the DC-3 or a Corona that can emulate it. For that iconic Dimension sound, though, owners consider it the real deal.
