About the Epiphone SG Standard
This SG Standard is part of Epiphone's Inspired by Gibson line and is made in China. It has a mahogany body, a glued-in mahogany neck with a SlimTaper profile, a 24.75 inch scale, a 12 inch radius with 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid trapezoid inlays, and a 1.69 inch (43 mm) Graph Tech nut. The headstock is the Gibson-style 1960s Kalamazoo shape and the pickguard a five-ply black batwing. A LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar hold the strings, and each of the two humbuckers has its own volume and tone knob, with a three-way switch. The first two digits of the serial are the year it was made, so 23061521010 is a 2023.
Two pickup versions exist. Examples dated 2019 to 2022 carry a pair of Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers. The other version has a ProBucker 2 in the neck and a ProBucker 3 at the bridge, with Grover Rotomatic tuners, and comes with a premium gig bag. Weighed examples come in at about 3.0 to 3.4 kg (6.6 to 7.5 lb). The standard gloss finishes are Ebony, Heritage Cherry and Alpine White. Older SG Standards, dated 1997 to 2006, also turn up under the same name.
