About the Fender American Ultra Stratocaster HSS

The American Ultra Stratocaster HSS is made in the USA. The HSS puts an Ultra Double Tap humbucker in the bridge, with two Ultra Noiseless Hot Strat single coils in the neck and middle. The S-1 push switch in the volume knob splits the humbucker into a single coil set to the same output as the other two pickups. The controls are a master volume with the S-1 switch, two tone controls and a five-way switch, and a treble bleed keeps the highs when the volume is turned down.

The body is alder, or ash on some, with sculpted rear contours and a tapered neck heel. The maple neck has the Modern D profile with a satin urethane back and gloss headstock face, a Bi-Flex truss rod, and a 10 to 14 inch compound radius board with rolled edges, 22 medium jumbo frets, a 25.5 inch scale and a bone nut 1.685 inch (42.8 mm) wide. The bridge is a two-point synchronized tremolo with a pop-in arm, and the tuners are sealed locking units with short posts.

Maple boards have black dot inlays and rosewood boards white ones. Texas Tea examples have a gold anodized aluminum pickguard; Ultraburst examples with a maple board have a three-ply mint green one. Limited editions bring an ebony board, some with a flame maple top. Weighed examples come in at about 7.7 to 8.6 lb (3.5 to 3.9 kg). It comes in an Elite molded hard case with the tremolo arm, strap lock hardware, adjustment wrenches, paperwork and a certificate.
