About the PRS SE Custom 24-08
The SE Custom 24-08 is the SE Custom 24 with the 08 switching, and the -08 in the name stands for eight pickup sounds. What it adds is a mini toggle for each of its two PRS TCI S humbuckers (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance) that splits that pickup to a single coil, so with the three-way pickup switch both can run full, both split, or one split against the other full. The other controls are a plain master volume and master tone.
The body is a mahogany back under a maple top with a flame maple veneer and a shallow violin carve. The set multi-ply maple neck has the Wide Thin carve and a gloss finish, and the rosewood board carries Old School bird inlays and 24 frets on a 25 inch scale, with a 10 inch radius and a 1 11/16 inch nut. Spec sheets give the neck depth as 13/16 inch near the first fret and 57/64 inch near the 12th. The bridge is the PRS molded tremolo, with PRS-designed tuners and nickel hardware. They are made in Indonesia. Weighed examples come in at about 7.4 to 8.1 lb (3.3 to 3.7 kg), most 7.6 to 8 lb. A new one comes in a PRS SE gig bag. Colors include Eriza Verde, Charcoal Cherry Burst, Turquoise and Vintage Sunburst.
