About the Tokai Love Rock LS150F-3A

The LS150F-3A is the Love Rock Tokai built for the UK market from about 2010 to 2021 with a solid AAA flamed maple top, never shown in the catalogues, and unlike every other Tokai its number never moved with the price, which is why a 150 often costs more than an LS198 or LS201, whose solid tops are plain-figured. The LS200F-5A is its sister with a 5A top (tighter flame lines than a 3A), a coil split on the treble volume pot and Brazilian rosewood on a 2009; both are Premium-grade guitars with a long tenon, nitrocellulose lacquer, brass saddles and Orange Drop caps, and heavy with it. Owners date theirs from 2009 to 2022.

The best-priced as cards, a row of them; every other ad as a line, by ask. Each ask is the seller’s own number; the platform’s mark opens the listing. Each one says when we last confirmed it at its source: the price and availability are from that visit, so check the marketplace before you go.

No typical price yet for this one, so: one email when a new listing appears, with its ask. Never more than one a day. No account; a link to stop in every email.

Every recorded sale, one point each: 8 of them, placed by the day the ad went up. Too few sales to draw a trend through them without inventing one, so the points speak for themselves. Condition is mixed, so some of the spread is a mint against a fair rather than the market moving.

What owners have said elsewhere

Paraphrased from 7 discussion threads among 8 owners, 2024-2026. No names, nothing quoted.

A former owner of a 2009 LS200-5A says it beats any Gibson, second only to a 1985 LS-80 among the hundred-odd Les Pauls passed through those hands, and regrets swapping it straight for a Gibson; an LS150F owner loves it and is glad the guitars hold and gain value, and a collector of five Tokais including an LS150F says they are simply finer than Gibsons and have more soul.
