About the Epiphone Sheraton II Pro
Over the plain Sheraton II, the Pro adds ProBucker humbuckers, a ProBucker-2 at the neck and a slightly hotter ProBucker-3 at the bridge, each split to single coil by pulling its volume knob, plus a Graph Tech NuBone XL nut. It has a laminated maple semi-hollow body with a center block, a set five-piece maple and walnut neck in the 1960s SlimTaper C carve, and 22 medium jumbo frets on a 24.75 inch scale with a 12 inch radius and a 1.68 inch nut. The board carries block-and-triangle pearloid and abalone inlays, and the clipped-ear headstock has a tree of life inlay. Binding is five-ply on the top, neck and headstock and single-ply on the back and f-holes. Hardware is gold: Grover Rotomatic tuners at 18:1 and a LockTone Tune-o-matic with a stopbar, plus top-hat knobs with metal inserts on 500K pots, an ivory toggle cap and a bound tortoise pickguard with a metal E. It is made in China and leaves the factory with D'Addario 10-46 strings. The board is rosewood or pau ferro; examples built in the 2020s have pau ferro.
Weighed examples come in at about 8.4 to 9.4 lb (3.8 to 4.3 kg). New ones were sold without a case, and many used ones come with an Epiphone hardshell case. Factory seconds carry a USED or 2ND stamp on the back of the headstock and a new serial. Owners often swap the ProBuckers and fit new pots and wiring. Finishes include Ebony, Vintage Sunburst, Wine Red, Natural and Midnight Sapphire.
