About the PRS SE Paul's Guitar
The SE Paul's Guitar, the lower-priced SE version of the PRS Paul's Guitar, came out in 2019 and is built in Indonesia; serials carry a year letter, usually after CTI (A on a 2019, D on a 2021, E on a 2022, H on a 2025). It was the first PRS outside the Core and Private Stock lines with this switching: a TCI S bass humbucker at the neck and a TCI S treble at the bridge, master volume and tone, a three-way toggle, and two mini toggles that split each pickup to single coil on its own, for eight combinations. The stoptail with brass inserts is the same one the Core Paul's Guitar uses.
The mahogany body has a flame maple veneer over a maple top with a shallow violin carve. The set multi-piece mahogany neck has the Wide Fat carve, specified at 7/8 inch deep near the nut and 61/64 inch at the 12th fret, deeper than the Wide Thin neck of most other SE models. The rosewood board has abalone birds, 22 medium jumbo frets, a 25 inch scale, a 10 inch radius and a 1 11/16 inch (42.9 mm) nut. Weighed examples come in at about 6.2 to 7.7 lb (2.8 to 3.5 kg). A new one comes with a PRS SE gig bag, not a case. Owners often fit locking tuners, so ask for the originals. Launch colors were Amber, Aqua and Fire Red; later ones include Faded Blue Burst, Black Gold Sunburst, Charcoal, Teal Black, Slate Blue and Turquoise.
