About the Gibson Custom Shop Slash Brazilian Dream '58 Les Paul Standard Signed
The Brazilian Dream is a 2018 Gibson Custom Shop run of 150: a 1958 reissue in a plain-top dark tobacco burst with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, black plastics and no serial number, the artist's signature and the run number written on the back of the headstock. CITES rules on the fingerboard kept sales inside the United States, though examples have since crossed into Canada and Europe. Apart from the rosewood the specs match the 58 First Standard. The neck reads as a 58 on paper but owners describe it as closer to a customised 59, and it varies between examples.

The best-priced as cards, a row of them; every other ad as a line, by ask. Each ask is the seller’s own number; the platform’s mark opens the listing. Each one says when we last confirmed it at its source: the price and availability are from that visit, so check the marketplace before you go.
Price history
Every recorded sale, one point each: 40 of them, placed by the day the ad went up. Too few sales to draw a trend through them without inventing one, so the points speak for themselves. Condition is mixed, so some of the spread is a mint against a fair rather than the market moving.

What owners have said elsewhere
Paraphrased from 78 discussion threads among 23 owners, 2019-2024. No names, nothing quoted.
Owners call it shockingly good, clear and accurate, and several rank it first among the artist's models; the artist toured on the Brazilian Dream and Brazilian Vermillion artist proofs for years. The people who have owned more than one are cooler: two say the 58 First Standard sounded better both times, and the launch price is widely called a joke. The owners' workaround is to dress a 2008 R8 or a Slash tobacco piezo with black plastics and an ABR-1, which owners rate as good as the original for a third of the money.
