About the Gibson Custom Shop Slash Signature Appetite For Destruction Les Paul VOS
The 2010 Custom Shop AFD VOS is Gibson's Custom Shop replica of the Derrig-built Les Paul copy heard on Appetite for Destruction: a run of 300, released after the USA AFD Standard and followed by an aged and signed version that copies the wear of the original. Against the USA model it has a solid one-piece mahogany body with no weight relief, a noticeably fatter neck, thin nitro lacquer, taller vintage pickup rings and thinner binding, Seymour Duncan Slash APH-2 zebra pickups, chrome reflector knobs and 6150 jumbo frets; wood selection runs light, one example at 3.7 kg. The 2020 Appetite Burst copies the look only, in a paler finish than the amber of the 2010 runs. The artist used this guitar at his own shows for most of the following decade.

The best-priced as cards, a row of them; every other ad as a line, by ask. Each ask is the seller’s own number; the platform’s mark opens the listing. Each one says when we last confirmed it at its source: the price and availability are from that visit, so check the marketplace before you go.
Price history
Every recorded sale, one point each: 12 of them, placed by the day the ad went up. Too few sales to draw a trend through them without inventing one, so the points speak for themselves. Condition is mixed, so some of the spread is a mint against a fair rather than the market moving.

What owners have said elsewhere
Paraphrased from 132 discussion threads among 40 owners, 2019-2026. No names, nothing quoted.
For a large share of owners this is the one: the best Les Paul they have played, with the fat neck, light wood and mid-heavy aggressive tone, crazy sustain, and the feel of a Custom Shop instrument that the USA AFD does not give; one buyer who went in for the USA model walked out with the VOS, and those who sold one regret it. The complaints are about consistency: tops and colours vary a great deal from one example to the next, with little apparent effort to match the original, a few who have played them alongside USA Standards say they are not really better, just fitted with upgraded parts, and others resent the USA, Custom Shop, aged and signed and now Murphy Lab versions arriving one after another. Not every guitar sold as an AFD VOS is this one: a dealer-ordered 1958 Players Choice run and 60th Anniversary R9s in Mojave Fade get listed in the same words. For a refret, owners stay with nickel 6150 wire; stainless brightens the tone.
