About the Gibson Slash Signature Les Paul Goldtop
The 2008 signature Goldtop was a Gibson USA limited run of 1,000: a goldtop with a very dark back, Seymour Duncan APH-1 Alnico II Pro pickups, a factory treble bleed circuit, the skull logo on the headstock face, 9-hole weight relief and a slim neck, sold in a skull-graphic case with a hand-signed certificate on a display stand. Gibson billed it as a one-time run, so the 2020 Victoria, the same guitar in tribute with Gibson pickups, a thicker neck and no limit, is a sore point with 2008 owners. Copies exist; a genuine serial is stamped lightly and the certificate alone proves nothing.

The best-priced as cards, a row of them; every other ad as a line, by ask. Each ask is the seller’s own number; the platform’s mark opens the listing. Each one says when we last confirmed it at its source: the price and availability are from that visit, so check the marketplace before you go.
Price history
Every recorded sale, one point each: 48 of them, placed by the day the ad went up. Too few sales to draw a trend through them without inventing one, so the points speak for themselves. Condition is mixed, so some of the spread is a mint against a fair rather than the market moving.

What owners have said elsewhere
Paraphrased from 111 discussion threads among 34 owners, 2019-2026. No names, nothing quoted.
Owners call it one of the best goldtops Gibson has made and a guitar that ends up on stage more than their other Les Pauls, with the APH-1 pickups and the treble bleed as the things that set it apart. The knocks are the stock pots and capacitors, which many replace, the thin neck for some hands and the skull silk-screen. Collectors take the 2008 over the 2020 Victoria for the limited run and the signed certificate; players who only want a goldtop are told a Custom Shop 57 darkback at the same money is the better guitar, and several who sold a 2008 to buy one say so.
