About the Tokai LC-136S
The LC-136S is the Japanese Vintage Series Les Paul Custom of roughly 2016 to 2022, S for a maple cap over the mahogany back, where the plain LC has a mahogany top, with an Indian rosewood board, a poly finish and black or snow-white (SW) paint; the same guitar was the LC98S in 2011 and the LC137S or LC141S in nearby years, the number being the yen price. The Premium LC230 above it has a two-piece top, one-piece back and nitro lacquer. A genuine one shows the Gibson-style nut adjustment tool and bright headstock inlay, the few Canadian fakes use plastic inlays that yellow, and the first two digits of the serial give the year. Owners date theirs from 2016 to 2022. Buying direct from a big Tokyo dealer's Reverb store is the cheap route, the same guitars sit on eBay at 30-40 per cent more, a lowball offer was accepted at once, shipping to the US took under two days, and the US import bill was about USD 75; one owner has swapped in Gibson Classic 57s and Orange Drop caps.

The best-priced as cards, a row of them; every other ad as a line, by ask. Each ask is the seller’s own number; the platform’s mark opens the listing. Each one says when we last confirmed it at its source: the price and availability are from that visit, so check the marketplace before you go.

Price history
Every recorded sale, one point each: 20 of them, placed by the day the ad went up. Too few sales to draw a trend through them without inventing one, so the points speak for themselves. Condition is mixed, so some of the spread is a mint against a fair rather than the market moving.

What owners have said elsewhere
Paraphrased from 7 discussion threads among 17 owners, 2021-2026. No names, nothing quoted.
It is called a beast, on a par with the real Les Paul Custom one owner used to have; another's black one is the number-one guitar and said to leave the Gibson equivalent standing; a new owner calls the build quality excellent with a lovely neck and a brighter voice than the PRS-style guitars it joined, and others simply call them fantastic and brilliant.
