About the Tokai Love Rock ULS-129
The ULS129 is the UK-headstock version of the Japanese Vintage Series Love Rock of the early 2020s, U for the dimpled headstock the UK market requires, with a two-piece mahogany back under a maple veneer; against the Premium LS150 above it (one-piece back, real maple cap, nicer hardware, Orange Drop caps and nitro) a dealer finds it has a little more low end and a slightly chunkier neck. It comes with a certificate of authenticity and was the entry point for a new Japanese Love Rock in the UK at about £1,500 in 2023. Whether a Love Rock has a one-, two- or three-piece back is held to make no audible difference, weight matters more, and owners of all three say they all sound good, so choose by feel rather than by the seam.
