About the Tokai Love Rock LS-75Q
The LS75Q is the quilt-top Love Rock of Tokai's Vintage Series from the late 1990s to 2004, Q for quilted maple, the number the list price in yen, so a 2001 LS75Q is the same guitar as a 2003 LS85Q and a 2001 LS100Q could not have existed beside it. Finishes seen are cherry sunburst and heritage cherry, a rare natural quilt and a 2004 in sea foam green that was probably a distributor's custom colour; the dimple in the headstock marks a guitar for the UK and other export markets. A Japanese one carries a Gotoh tune-o-matic screwed straight into the body, where the Korean ALS-50Q that looks the same has an Epiphone-style bridge, a different serial font or no serial at all. Owners date theirs from 1997 to 2004. The model is usually written under the neck pickup, and a 2001 buyer's guitar was placed as a 2001 or 2003 LS75Q from photographs alone; Tokai's Les Pauls sit in three groups, Traditional (now Chinese), Vintage (Japanese, this one) and Premium (the Reborns and custom-shop equivalents).

The best-priced as cards, a row of them; every other ad as a line, by ask. Each ask is the seller’s own number; the platform’s mark opens the listing. Each one says when we last confirmed it at its source: the price and availability are from that visit, so check the marketplace before you go.

Price history
Every recorded sale, one point each: 11 of them, placed by the day the ad went up. Too few sales to draw a trend through them without inventing one, so the points speak for themselves. Condition is mixed, so some of the spread is a mint against a fair rather than the market moving.

What owners have said elsewhere
Paraphrased from 15 discussion threads among 15 owners, 2021-2025. No names, nothing quoted.
The LS75Q is the one that gets admired: one owner's 2003 is the favourite of the collection with quality called excellent, a 2004 in sea foam green is not its owner's dearest Tokai but the one that draws the most attention, a 1997's build is called super and very playable, and an owner who has since moved to a Korean gold top says the LS75Q was a whole other ball game and wants another. The stock pickups on a 1997 are the softer, older-school voice next to the MK2s in a 2020 LS-100F; owners have swapped them, and used examples turn up already wearing Seymour Duncan Antiquities, which one owner rates the best humbuckers there are.
