About the Tokai LS-142Q
The LS142Q is the Vintage Series quilt-top Love Rock of 2019 to 2022, the same guitar was the LS85Q in 2004, with a two-piece mahogany back, a maple cap under a quilted maple veneer that is not paper-thin (about an eighth of an inch on one that was refinished), a rosewood board and a poly finish, in oak, ocean blue burst, bourbon burst, tobacco and black. The ULS142Q is the UK-headstock version, QM stands for quilted maple, and the pots on a 2021 are Korean-made. Against the Premium models the differences are a veneered rather than solid cap and rosewood rather than ebony; the build is the same, and the neck is the fat profile of the models over 100. Owners date theirs from 2003 to 2021. The serial on the back of the headstock gives the year, the model number is usually written in the pickup cavity, and Q means a quilted top.

The best-priced as cards, a row of them; every other ad as a line, by ask. Each ask is the seller’s own number; the platform’s mark opens the listing. Each one says when we last confirmed it at its source: the price and availability are from that visit, so check the marketplace before you go.

Price history
Every recorded sale, one point each: 15 of them, placed by the day the ad went up. Too few sales to draw a trend through them without inventing one, so the points speak for themselves. Condition is mixed, so some of the spread is a mint against a fair rather than the market moving.

What owners have said elsewhere
Paraphrased from 16 discussion threads among 22 owners, 2023-2026. No names, nothing quoted.
The LS142Q is rated at least the equal of the best Gibsons its owners have had, one calls it better to play than anything owned, a shop comparison against a Gibson Traditional put the Tokai a notch above, and it is called perfectly awesome stock. The weight is the one downside named more than once; the stock pickups are called meh by some and very good by others, swaps go to Creamery Hum 90s, DiMarzio PAF 59s or Gibson Custombuckers, and one player found the neck too fat.
